Thanks for calling attention to the fact that fossil fuel usage is still rising, and to the problems of plastic pollution, neither of which are topics that get enough attention. And it was great to hear about the wetland restoration in Massachusetts.

Hooray for the Massachusetts restoration projects! Yes, the native seed bank waiting in the ground is one of the most hopeful possible things to contemplate. Just waiting! For a little encouragement.

Bravo more marshland. To stop the climate changing we must take a system approach of multiple solutions, both decrease emissions, increase carbon dioxide draw down with more vegetation and decrease hot storm water discharge from impervious surfaces (heat islands). Restoring marshland includes more grasses. Whenever grasses photosynthesize one half of the carbohydrates is root exudate deepening soils. Cranberries keep two thirds of the carbohydrates for biomass and functions. More healthy soils holds more water supporting more life and photosynthesis.
